The device is designed for removing local cellulite fat using ultrasonic waves. The transmitted ultrasound creates micro bubbles in the fat layer, which, influenced by the surrounding pressure, implode (“collapses”), releasing energy that permanently disrupts the wall of the fat cells, thus removing it. The resulting effect is permanent and visible immediately after the first treatment.

The device uses a patented system for the automatic changing of the ultrasound’s depth of penetration according to the thickness of the fat layer; it is made under the trademark SCP: Safely Cavitation Program (patent no.: M2008A00628), and thanks to it, the danger of skin burns is completely eliminated.

Bodyka is the result of the know-how of the Novavision Group. This cavitation device, unique in its field, is the result of long and thorough research. A team of leaders from the University of Pavia (Department of Surgical Sciences) is involved in the scientific and technological research of the Novaestetyc division. All studies and laboratory tests are conducted in collaboration with the Department of Surgical Sciences, and the tests are carried out at the General Hospital of San Matteo – Fondazione IRCCS (Department of Medical Physics).

How it works

Sonication/Cavitation is a method that uses the properties of low-frequency ultrasound in conjunction with:          

• with controlled thermal effect (thanks to the SCP technology),
• with a micromechanical effect (removal of the membrane of fat cells),
• with a chemical effect (changes in the local pH, changes in the permeability of the cell membrane and changes in the molecular structure).

Ultrasonic waves – sonication – make it possible to treat localized fat and cellulite. The low-frequency ultrasonic beam generates microbubbles of gas that burst under external pressure, releasing energy and causing selective local elimination of adipocyte structures. In the decompression (release) phase, a vacuum is created in the fluid, which creates expanding gas microbubbles.

In the compression phase, the pressure forms on the expanding bubble itself, which raises the temperature of the gas in the bubble until it causes implosion (bursting into its own volume) of the bubble, leading to the release of mechanical energy.

Sonophoresis uses the ability of ultrasound to penetrate the skin. It temporarily alters cell permeability, thus enabling the active ingredients to penetrate deep into the subcutaneous layers by crossing the natural skin barrier.
