Marks or pigmented lesions form a large group of
marks on the skin that are characterized by their location, size,
colour, border and edges. If we talk about marks, we most often talk
about pigmented nevi (moles), the colour of which can be from grey to
brown to almost black. These are created by calls called melanocyte.
Contraindications:
- bleeding conditions
- decreased immunity in the patient
Preoperative
preparation
In
the case of a healthy client no additional examinations are necessary
before the operation. If the client has serious concomitant diseases,
it is advisable to have at least a basic examination of the blood and
internal environment before the operation. In serious cases, we can
have an internal preoperative examination supplemented.
Course
of the operation
The
operation is performed under local anaesthesia, which is given by
injection, around the mark. Within 2-5 minutes of administration, the
site is so insensitive that surgery can be performed without pain.
The mark is usually removed with about 2-3 mm safety edge, to ensure
that it is removed in its entirety. After removing the mark, the
bleeding is first stopped in the surgical wound and then the wound is
closed – by suturing. The wound is subsequently covered with a
sterile dressing.
Postoperative
care
The
client leaves home immediately after the operation. He or she is
instructed about caring for the wound. He or she then comes for
inspection as needed, or 7-14 days after the operation for stitch
removal. At that time, the patient will also receive the results of
the histological examination. Based on this result, further treatment
and care are recommended. In the case of a negative histological
examination, it is not necessary to monitor the client.
