DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENT

#plesneliecba

Mycoses, i.e. fungal and yeast infection of the skin or nails, are known to people all over the world. Despite advances in the treatment of cases, they continue to grow and according to estimates, up to 20 to 25 percent of people suffer from some form of mycosis. While using topically applied preparations will help you get rid of it relatively rapidly and easily from the skin and mucous membranes, it is much more difficult to expel it from the nails and taking medication is necessary.

Parasites of plant or fungus origin are the root cause of problems such as fungal diseases. Only a small portion of them is dangerous for humans. They spread by spores that are very resistant to external influences and are transmitted by contact from one person to another. Moulds as such do not usually pose a serious risk. They become a threat only when the immune system is weakened for various reasons.

Prevention of mild forms of moulds

  • Care for your immune system according to known rules.
  • Beware of poor hygiene in sports, physically strenuous activities, swimming pools and the like.
  • Do not share or exchange towels, shoes, underwear, etc. with other people.
  • After showering, dry potentially problematic, such as between the toes, underarms, etc., areas sufficiently (moulds love moisture).
  • Limit the use of rubber boots and synthetic fibre socks and stockings.

Standard microscopic and culture mycological examinations are used to determine exactly what kind of fungus or mould it is. Serological diagnosis may be needed for some manifestations of the disease. For milder forms of dermatomycoses, topical preparations are applied, with treatment lasting 2 to 4 weeks. There are many solutions, creams, dusting powders and ointments available for fungal diseases. Unfortunately, the effect is not always ideal and “hitting” the right medication sometimes takes longer. Systemic treatment (in the form of tablets) is used only for extensive dermatomycoses, which are usually associated with more serious diseases. Tablet treatment lasts two to three months for the feet.

Why this treatment?

  • an accurate diagnosis based on proper material collection
  • rapidly available scheduling dates
  • prevention of the spread of mycosis to healthy areas
